BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA
A PROCLAMATION
EDUCATION SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS DAY
WHEREAS:
Public schools are part of this nation's backbone, providing young people with the tools they need to maintain our nation's precious values of freedom, civility, and equality. Integral in this education process is the part played by Education Support Professionals; and
WHEREAS:
Education Support Professionals who are bus drivers, monitors, mechanics, and routing specialists ensure the safe transportation of students. Those who work in cafeterias provide well-balanced and nutritional meals to our children. Those who choose to be nurses look after the health and well - being of the students in their care; and
WHEREAS :
Educational Support Professionals who are custodial workers provide a clean environment for students to learn in, while those in maintenance departments provide safe surroundings for students and staff alike. Those who are administrative assistants serve students, parents, and staff to their fullest abilities; and
WHEREAS:
Education Support Professionals who are paraprofessionals provide additional support to students, whi le those who work as med ia center specialists provide students with an opportunity to experience the joys of reading. Those who are bookkeepers keep financial records updated and process payroll for all teachers and education support professionals; and
WHEREAS:
Education Support Professionals work tirelessly to serve our children and our state with care and profess ionalism; now
THEREFORE:
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim November 16, 2011 , as EDUCATION SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS DAY in Georgia and encourage our citizens to recognize the work done by these individuals.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 5 th day of October in the year of our Lord two thousand eleven.
