EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:

ORDERED:
The State of Georgia holds title to approximately 266,83 acres of improved real property ("Property") situated on Skidaway Island, Chatham County, Georgia, by virtue of a deed dated December 16, 1968, from Union Camp Corporation, and being recorded in Deed Book 95, Page 121 in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Chatham County; and
Said Property is in the custody of the Department of Natural Resources ("Department") by virtue of an Executive Order dated February 11, 1969, and being inventoried and recorded as Real Property Record number 04092; and
The Property is improved with an Interpretive Center identified as BLLIP #26195 ("Structure") located on Skidaway Island Park Road, as shown in that aerial map attached hereto as Exhibit A, and incorporated herein by reference; and
The Department recommended the removal of the Structure due to the 30-year-old structure being inadequate for Department operations, in poor condition, and beyond reasonable repair; and
The Department's Historic Preservation Division determined that removing the non-historic Structure would not impact the Georgia/National Register of Historic Places; and
The Georgia Board of Natural Resources resolved on March 26, 2019, to authorize the Department's Commissioner to request demolition of the Structure by Executive Order from the Governor.
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
The Department of Natural Resources is hereby authorized and directed to provide for the razing, demolition, and disposal of said Structure under the terms and conditions which are deemed tooli>xe in the best interests of the State of Georgia.
