THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:
WHEREAS:
The State of Georgia holds title to approximately 6.06 acres of improved real property (hereinafter the "Property") located at 1031 Calhoun Falls Highway, Elberton, Georgia 30635, located in the 189th G.M. District, Elbert County, Georgia being a portion of property acquired by virtue of deeds dated November 16, 1954, and November 3,1959, from the City of Elberton, recorded in Deed Books 56 and 66, pages 124 and 588, respectively, in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Elbert County, and filed with the State Properties Commission Real Property Records as RPR# 000520 and RPR# 000521, respectively; and
Whereas: Said Property is in the custody of the Georgia Department of Defense; and
WHEREAS:
The Property is improved with an approximately 2,221 square foot building identified as "Building 2" with a BLLIP ID # of 8787 and used as a vehicle repair bay of the Georgia Army National Guard (hereinafter the "Structure") as shown in the aerial photograph attached hereto as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS: Said Structure has been identified by the Georgia Department of Defense as deteriorated beyond the ability to salvage or sell and has exceeded its useful life; and
WHEREAS: By letter dated May 2, 2019, the Georgia Department of Defense requested the Structure to be demolished and removed to improve the surrounding area with paving and security fencing.
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS Governor of the state of Georgia, it is hereby
Ordered:
The Georgia Department of Defense is authorized and directed to provide for the razing, demolition and disposal of said Structure under the terms and conditions which are^eemed to be in tire best interests of the State of Georgia.
