On January 30, 2019, pursuant to O.C.G.A. 15-6-82, an Executive Order was issued appointing members to a committee charged with investigating the Clerk of the Superior Court of McIntosh County, Ms. Rebecca McFerrin; and
The committee issued its report on March 1, 2019, and on March 25, 2019, by Executive Order 03.25.19.02, and pursuant to O.C.G.A. 156-82, Ms. Rebecca McFerrin was suspended from the office of Clerk of the Superior Court of McIntosh County for a period of sixty days; and
As directed in Executive Order 03.25.19.02, District Attorney Tom Durden filed a Petition for Removal of Clerk of Superior Court, on April 17, 2019; and
In a letter dated, April 23, 2019, District Attorney Durden requested a 30-day extension due to limited space and time resources, to accommodate an alternate judge, and to provide additional preparation time.
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITYVESTED IN ME AS Governor of the state of Georgia, it is hereby
That a 30-day extension, to begin on May 25,2019, is hereby granted.
