EXECUTIVE ORDER

Wayne County Board of Education member, Janet Royal, was indicted on June 6, 2018, on two counts of Theft by Taking; and
The indictment was transmitted to the Governor pursuant to O.C.G.A. 45S-6(b), and the certified copy was received on June 18, 2018; and
The 14-day period following the receipt of the indictment as prescribed by O.C.G.A. 45-5-6(e) has passed.
Now, THEREFORE, BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME As
GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
That Attorney General Chris Carr; Jefferson City Schools Board of Education member, Ronald Hopkins; and Jefferson County Board of Education member, Teresa Brooks, are hereby appointed as the review commission to determine whether the indictment relates to and adversely affects the administration of the office of Wayne County Board of Education member by Ms. Royal such that the rights and interests of the public are adversely affected thereby and to make a written report to me within 14 days with a recommendation as to whether Ms. Royal should be suspended from office as required by O.C.G.A. 45-5-6(c).
