Flags on All State Buildings and Grounds Ordered Lowered to Half Staff
On Saturday, October 27, 2018, horror struck when an armed gunman entered the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and tragically killed 11 people and injured several others; and
The people of Georgia share the grief of the families and friends of those who were injured or killed, and we pray for their comfort and healing in the days to come; and
As a mark of respect for the victims of this tragic attack, the President of the United States has ordered the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff on all public buildings and grounds.
NOW, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY THIS TRAGEDY, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
That, in conjunction with the Proclamation by the President of the United States, the flag of the United States and flag of the Great State of Georgia should be flown at half-staff on all state buildings and grounds until sunset on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
