Executive order, 2018 October 10

THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:

WHEREAS: In preparation for the impact of Hurricane Michael, I issued a State of Emergency on October 9, 20x8; and

Whereas: This storm system has the potential to produce catastrophic impacts to citizens throughout the Gulf Coast region of the United States, including the state of Georgia; and

WHEREAS:

Article 3, Section 38-3-51 of the Georgia Emergency Management Act of 1981, as amended, vests the Governor with the authority to issue reasonable orders, rules and regulations deemed necessary to protect public health, safety and welfare, and bring the emergency situation under control.

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS Governor of the state of Georgia, it is hereby

Ordered:

That the Georgia Department of Defense provide up to 1,500 Georgia National Guardsmen to be used in preparation, response, and recovery efforts associated with Hurricane Michael within the state of Georgia.

IT IS FURTHER

Ordered: That these Georgia National Guardsmen be called up to State Active Duty, as necessary, by the Adjutant General,

This Executive Order shall be valid for a period of six (6) days, beginning on October 10, 2018 and ending at 11:59 Pm on October 16, 2018.
