Executive order [July 6, 2017]

THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:
FLAGS ON GEORGIA PORTS AUTHORITY BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS ORDERED LOWERED TO HALF STAFF

WHEREAS: On June 29, 2017, Officer Luetricia "Pat" Oliver was tragically killed in an automobile accident on her way to duty; and

WHEREAS: Officer Oliver served om state honorably as an Officer of the Georgia Ports Authority Police for over ten years; and

WHEREAS:

Officer Oliver's commitment to the safety and security of Georgia's Ports was shown through her dedicated service in assignments with Uniform Patrol and Investigations divisions, completing her last posting at Gate 4 of the Garden City Terminal; and

WHEREAS:

It is fitting and proper to recognize the dedication Officer Oliver displayed in her service to the state by lowering the flags on all Georgia Potts Authority buildings and grounds to half-staff on the date of her interment.

NOW, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE MEMORY OF OFFICER LUETRICIA "PAT" OLIVER, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

ORDERED:

That the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Georgia be flown at half-staff on all Georgia Potts Authority buildings and grounds on Saturday, July 8, 2017, until sunset.
This 6th day of July, 2017.
