EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:
WHEREAS:
By Executive Order dated October 31, 2017, a Review Commission was appointed to determine whether the indictment of Sheriff Jeff Hobby related to and adversely impacted the administration of the office of Sheriff of Worth County pursuant to O.C.G.A. 45-5-6; and
WHEREAS:
By the report dated November 9, 2017, the commission found that charges included in the indictment do relate to and adversely affect the administration of the office of Sheriff and unanimously recommended that Sheriff Jeff Hobby be suspended from office under the provisions of O.C.G.A. 45-5-6.
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED:
That Sheriff Jeff Hobby is hereby suspended from office immediately and without further action pending the final disposition of the case or until the expiration of his term of office, whichever occurs first, as provided in O.C.G.A. 45-5-6(c).
