THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:

WHEREAS:

The State of Georgia holds title to ce1tain real property by virtue of a June 5, 1956 quit claim deed from A.S. Newton, H.S. Reeves, and Stanley Clayton, as Commissioners of Roads and Revenues of Jenkins County for 1,055.88 acres recorded in Jenkins County Clerk of Superior Court in Deed Book RR, Pages 165-168 (the "Prope1ty"); and

WHEREAS:

Said Prope1ty is in the custody of the Department of Natural Resources (the "Deparbnent") and was acquired as part ofthe Magnolia Springs State Park; and

WHEREAS:

The Prope1ty improvements include dorms #I & #2 and are 3,375 square foot each and a kitchen/dining hall that is 3,840 square feet, as shown in that drawing attached hereto as Exhibit A, and incorporated herein by reference (the "Structures"); and

WHEREAS:

Said Structures are identified by the Deparhnent to no longer be essential for park operations, unsafe in their current condition, declared to have no value, and the Department recommends the removal of the Structures; and

WHEREAS:

The Board of Natural Resources on September 23, 2015, resolved to recommend the removal of the Structures and requested that the State Properties Commission seek an Executive Order fiom the Governor to allow for the razing, demolition, and disposal of the Structures as in the best interest of the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS:

The Department of Natural Resources has funding available to raze, demolish, and dispose of said Structures.

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

ORDERED:

The Department of Natmal Resources is hereby authorized and directed to provide for the razing, demolition and disposal of said Structures under the tenus and conditions which are deemed to be in the best interests of the State of Georgia.
