Gerald R. Ford served as the 38th President of the United States from 1974-1977 following sendee as Vice President and a 25-year career in the United States House of Representatives; and
President Ford assumed the Presidency under extraordinary circumstances, and helped to restore the nation's confidence in the Presidency; and
The American people will always admire Gerald Ford's personal integrity and the honorable conduct of his administration.
NOW, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE MEMORY OF PRESIDENT GERALD R. FORD AND HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
That the flags on all state buildings throughout the State of Georgia be flown at half-staff from the day of his passing, until sunset thirty days thereafter, January 25, 2007.
