BY THE GOVERNOR:
Buildings known as the English and the Modern Foreign Language Buildings at Georgia College and State University, Baldwin County, Milledgeville, Georgia need to be removed.
The Board of Regents, at its meeting on August 10-11, 1999, declared by resolution that said buildings could no longer be used advantageously in the University System and that the demolition and removal of said buildings is in the best interest of the institution and the University System of Georgia.
In the opinion of Mr. William K. Chatham, Vice Chancellor for Facilities of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, these buildings can no longer be advantageously used by Georgia College and State University or the University System of Georgia and should be demolished and removed.
I hereby concur in the aforesaid declaration of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and approve the demolition and removal of the said buildings from Georgia College and State University, Baldwin County, Milledgeville, Georgia.
It is further ordered that the appropriate staff of Georgia College and State University, Baldwin County, Milledgeville, Georgia, acting under the approval of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, be and it is hereby authorized and directed to have said buildings demolished and to have all building materials removed from the premises through public works contract; all said demolition and, if applicable, removal to be performed as expeditiously as possible.
