THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER

BY THE GOVERNOR:

WHEREAS: ORDERED:

Due to the impending landfall of Category 4 Hurricane Floyd, I hereby declare a state of emergency in the following coastal counties: Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Glynn, Liberty and McIntosh. The latest predictions indicate Hurricane Floyd will impact the Georgia coast today. Due to the magnitude and intensity of this hurricane, I hereby order the activation of the Georgia National Guard to assist the State of Georgia with voluntary and mandatory evacuations as well as response and recovery efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
That the State of Emergency exists in the coastal counties of Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Glynn, Liberty and McIntosh and that the Georgia National Guard be activated to assist in the evacuation
and recovery efforts.
