Building No. 5717 at the University of Georgia's Bamboo Farm, Savannah, Georgia, needs to be removed:
The Board of Regents at its meeting on October 13-14, 1998, adopted a policy authorizing the Chancellor, Senior Vice Chancellor for Capital Resources or Vice Chancellor for Facilities to declare buildings, structures and other improvements under 2000 square feet and over 15 years of age no longer advantageously useful to the University System of Georgia; and
Said facility is included within this policy; and
In the opinion of Mr. William K. Chatham, Vice Chancellor for Facilities of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, this facility can no longer be advantageously used by the University of Georgia or the University System of Georgia and should be demolished and removed; now
I, Roy E. Barnes, Governor of the State of Georgia, acting under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by O.C.G.A. Q 20-3-80(a), do hereby concur in the aforesaid declaration of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and approve the demolition and removal of the said facility from the University of Georgia's Bamboo Farm; and it is hereby

ORDERED:

That the appropriate staff of the University of Georgia, acting under the approval of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, be and it is hereby authorized and directed to have said facility demolished and to have all building materials removed from the premises by University of Georgia staff; all said demolition and,
performed as expeditiously as possible.
