Executive order [June 4, 1999]

THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER

BY THE GOVERNOR:.

WHEREAS:

Section 45-12-35 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated provides that the Governor of the State of Georgia is authorized, in his discretion, to offer and cause to be paid a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person or persons who have committed a felony in the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS: On September 14, 1998, Christy Myers was found murdered. The crime occurred in Coffee County, Georgia; and

WHEREAS: By Executive Order dated October 16, 1998, a reward in the amount of $2,000.00 was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Christy Myers; and

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, PARTICULARLY BY VIRTUE OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE ABOVE CODE SECTION, IT IS HEREBY

ORDERED: That a reward in the amount of $3,000.00 is hereby offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Christy Myers.

IT IS FURTHER

ORDERED: That the aforementioned Executive Order dated October 16, 1998 which offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Christy Myers is hereby withdrawn.
