THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:
WHEREAS:
On November 12, 1991, this office issued a reward in the amount of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who took the life of Tony Carroll Reid; and
WHEREAS
On November 12, 1991, this office issued a reward in the amount of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who took the life of Kathy Jones Reid; and
WHEREAS: Billy Ray Robertson, Kenneth Brady, and Felton Avery were tried and convicted of the murders of Tony Carroll
Reid and Kathy Jones Reid; and
WHEREAS:
Phillip C. Smith, District Attorney, Bell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit, has advised that Carl Eugene Hammett provided the information leading to the arrest and conviction of Billy Ray Robertson, Kenneth Brady, and Felton Avery for the murders of Tony Carroll Reid and Kathy Jones Reid; and
WHEREAS: Carl Eugene Hammett is the only informant entitled to , such reward.; and
WHEREAS: Billy'-Ray Robertson, Kenneth Brady, and Felton Avery have been convicted within the meaning of the November 12, 1991 Executive Order; and
WHEREAS: Jo-Ann Bowen Hammett has been appointed the Administratrix of the Estate of Carl Eugene Hammett by the Probate Court of Gwinnett County, Georgia.
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED:
That the sum of $20,000.00 be paid the Estate of Carl Eugene Hammett, Jo-Ann Bowen Hammett, Administratrix, as provided by law, for information leading to the
arrest and conviction of the persons who took the lives of Tony Carroll Reid and Kathy Jones Reid.
