EXECUTIVE ORDER
SY THE GOVERNOR:
WHEREAS:
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia Blue Ribbon Commission on the Medical College of Georgia engaged in a comprehensive public discussion and analysis of the missions of the Medical College of Georgia and concluded that opportunities exist for a partnership between the hospitals and clinics of the medical college and other area health care providers, particularly the University Hospital of Richmond County; and
WHEREAS:
The 1999 General Assembly passed Senate Resolution 88, creating the Joint Study Committee on Partnership Between the Hospital and Clinics of the Medical College of Georgia and the University Hospital of Richmond County for the purposes of evaluating the findings and conclusions of the blue ribbon commission, evaluating opportunities for creative and mutually beneficial partnerships and integration of services between the Medical College of Georgia, the University Hospital of Richmond County a&other area health care providers in such a manner as to meet the needs for enhancing the health care curriculum of the medical college and meeting the health services needs of the local community, including indigent persons;
NOW THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS
GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

That the forenamed members shall serve a term along with members appointed by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, in accordance with Senate Resolution 88, and that the commission shall make a report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly and Board of Regents on or before September 30, 1999, and shall stand abolished on October 15, 1999.
