Executive order [Feb. 8, 1999]

THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER

BY THE GOVERNOR:

WHEREAS: Today the world mourns one of its great leaders, His Majesty King Hussein; and

WHEREAS:

King Hussein, admired by Americans and beloved by his country, was an extraordinary statesman and a true friend of the United States; and

WHEREAS:

The President of the United States has signed a proclamation ordering that the United States flag be flown at half-staff on all federal buildings as a mark of respect for the memory of King Hussein;

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

ORDERED:

That the flag of the United States and the flag of this state be flown at half-staff on all buildings and grounds throughout Capitol Hill from this date until sunset on Monday, February 8, 1999.
