THE STA TE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:
WHEREAS:
There was created by the Georgia General Assembly in 1978 the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Board to honor those, living and deceased, who have through service or achievement made outstanding and lasting contributions to athletics and sports in Georgia and elsewhere; and
WHEREAS:
The General Assembly in 1994 created the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Authority for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, operating, advertising and promoting a facility to house the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS:
In 1998 the General Assembly passed House Bill 1419, repealing the provisions relating to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Board and changing the provisions relating to the membership and duties of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Authority, and which bill was signed by me as Governor and becomes effective on May 1, 1998 as Act 580;
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED:
That the follo\ving persons be and they are hereby appointed as members of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Authority to serve for terms of office beginning May 1, 1998 and ending as indicated:
