ICYMI: Governor Kemp Shares Priorities for 2020 Legislative Session
Atlanta Journal Constitution: On legislative priorities... "The governor told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution his leading priorities include a call for tougher penalties for violent offenders, more resources to crack down on gangs and changes to make it easier for families to adopt foster care children."
Marietta Daily Journal: On public safety in Georgia... "We've had a great year with the Gang Task Force...We have more work to do and we're going to be focused on that this legislative session. Funding additional resources for the Gang Task Force and then also working on putting some more teeth into the statutes, to be able to go after and not only arrest these folks and indict them, but to get them prosecuted and get them locked up and off the streets."
WABE: On adoption reform... "I believe now is a good time for us to look and see what else we can do to help lower cost, to ease the bureaucracy and make it easier for people to adopt and specifically adopt foster kids so we can get them out of that system, you know, to a great home where they can get the resources that they need to really live a great life in our state and be a valuable member of our community."
WJBF: On funding for education "... We will continue making sure that we're fully funding public education like we've done really only two times in the past...We wanna continue to be able to produce more medical professionals and doctors - which there's some great work
