Perdue Inaugural Committee Announces Locations
Atlanta - Governor-Elect Sonny Perdue's Inaugural Committee today announced the location for the Inauguration and Celebration. The committee, co-chaired by Nancy Coverdell and Alec Poitevint, will host the most open, accessible Inauguration in Georgia history.
The Inauguration will take place Monday, January 13, 2003, at Philips Arena, allowing thousands of citizens the opportunity to witness the historic event.
"The Governor-Elect has talked throughout the campaign and transition about building the New Georgia, where citizens have access to their government," said Poitevint. "The Inauguration will embody this principle, by including more Georgians than ever before in this historic event."
The Inaugural Celebration will follow at the Georgia World Congress Center.
