Deal to meet with Gingrich Thursday
Gov. Nathan Deal and former Speaker Newt Gingrich will meet Thursday at the state Capitol to discuss how to reassert the importance of the 10th Amendment and identify overbearing federal regulations that cost Georgia money, especially health care costs, and minimize its ability to create jobs. The governor and speaker will discuss their meeting with the media immediately afterward.

Speaker Gingrich has been advocating for states to audit federal regulations. In November 2010 at a meeting in San Diego, Speaker Gingrich told the Republican Governors Association that states should identify every federal regulation that costs money and minimizes state creativity and to work to either repeal the regulation, abolish the office or agency or defund the activity.
