Logistics for Media Covering the State Memorial Day Ceremony
at Mt. Paran Church of God in Atlanta

ATLANTA Governor Sonny Perdue will host a State Memorial Day Ceremony at Mt. Paran Church of God in Atlanta TOMORROW, Thursday, MAY 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony will include remarks by Governor Perdue and a keynote address by Lt. General Russel Honor, United States Army (Retired).
The program will also include a solemn tribute to honor the Georgia servicemen and women who have fallen in Afghanistan and Iraq during operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony. Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) will stream video of the ceremony on its website at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22. GPB will broadcast the ceremony on television at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 25. GPB's statewide radio network will carry excerpts from the ceremony during the broadcast of Georgia Gazette at 6 p.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26. That same evening, at 8 p.m., GPB Radio will broadcast an hour special dedicated to the ceremony.

***There will be reserved parking for media near the entrance to the church's campus. Only still photography (no flash) will be allowed inside the ceremony. Video cameras will be restricted to outside the sanctuary. There will be a viewing area within the building separate from the event if media wish to file stories while viewing the ceremony.

Georgia Public Broadcasting will provide a mult-box for both audio and video feeds of the event, should television or radio stations wish to take the feed. Any use of this material should be credited to Georgia Public Broadcasting.
