City of Decatur Public Facilities Authority awarded $11.5 million loan for land conservation project.
The City of Decatur Public Facilities Authority was awarded an $11,452,000 Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) loan by the GEFA executive committee. The loan will finance the acquisition of 22.08 acres of land as part of the United Methodist Children's Home land purchase of 77 total acres. This project will permanently protect the land for the purpose of conservation and public recreation. Read more

Program activities and benefits

Georgia communities receive infrastructure loans totaling $48.4 million.
The GEFA board of directors awarded 16 communities financing totaling $48,440,000 for water, sewer, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure improvements during its meeting in August. The loan commitments include conservation and economic development projects. Read more

New Wastewater Treatment Plant improves water quality in Valdosta, Georgia.
GEFA awarded the city of Valdosta with $36.8 million in low-interest financing to help the city resolve wastewater system and treatment issues. The city was experiencing widespread water quality problems in the aftermath of heavy rain events. Read more
Six organizations awarded grant funding for renewable energy production.
Through the Georgia Solar Program, GEFA awarded $249,480 in grant funds to six organizations to increase awareness and public education about renewable energy production. Read more

GEFA has nothing but well wishes for David Austin, senior program manager for GEFA's Water Resources Division, who accepted a new job opportunity to work with his daughter in real estate.
