SB 129 Retirement; creditable service for certain military service; provide
This bill allows an ERS member with at least two years of service to purchase up to five years of creditable service for military service performed on or after 1/1/1990.
The member must pay full actuarial cost for the service and has the option of making a one-time payment for the service or the member may choose to have equal payments deducted from his or her earnable compensation over a specified period of time (with the longest option being ten years).

Friday, February 10 , 2017 HB 312 Employees' Retirement System of Georgia; Board of Trustees; include a qualified Roth contribution program in compensation plans
This bill adds a Roth contribution option to both the state's 401(k) and 457 plans, collectively known as Peach State Reserves (PSR) begining 1/1/2018.
