GaDOE to Announce Summer Reading Challenge

May 14, 2014 State School Superintendent Dr. John Barge and partners will hold a press conference to announce a Summer Reading Challenge to motivate students to continue reading over the summer. The "Georgia Summer Reading Challenge" will raise awareness of the summer loss epidemic, share compelling research on the importance of personalized reading activities, and provide access to a variety of free resources to support targeted reading and the initiative as a whole.
