Beach Bum Parade
Tybee Island, GA Friday, May 20th Enjoy an all-out water war for fun loving beach bums of all ages! Unlike most parades, these floats are filled with water-throwing paraphernalia, and spectators, lined up along the parade route, are armed with buckets, squirt guns and hoses.
Battle of Resaca Reenactment
Resaca, GA Friday, May 20th - Sunday, May 22nd This event will feature reenactments of exciting battles, a period dance with music by the 8th Regimental Band, a cavalry competition, a period church service, shopping for period wares and more.

Classic Car and Truck Show
Columbus, GA Saturday, May 21st Fort Benning Sergeants Major Association presents its 1st Annual Classic Car and Truck Show. Join the Armed Forces Day celebration and enjoy classic cars, good music and great food at this "open show" event!
Kids Fishing Day
Sandy Springs, GA Saturday, May 21st Learn how to fish like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn using a piece of river cane and a cork from a jug! Lucky fishermen may hook a catfish, bream or bass.

Brenau Barbecue Championship
Gainesville, GA Saturday, May 21st Join the fun on the campus of Brenau University at this Memphis Barbecue Network sanctioned cooking contest that will feature many of the South's best bbq teams and local barbecuers. Georgia Tourism, a division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, has launched 80 Days of Georgia Giveaways. Celebrate the best of Georgia by entering to win dozens of great prizes, including admission to Georgia's most popular attractions and special events, overnight getaways, vacation packages and other Georgia adventures. Facebook fans and Twitter followers will have access to more than 100 prizes from across the state over the next 80 days. New prizes will be announced every weekday through August 23, 2011 on www.facebook. com/exploregeorgia and @GeorgiaTourism on Twitter.
