Explore Georgia Update

Join us for Tourism, Hospitality and Arts Day at the Capitol next T uesday, January 21, as professionals from across the state gather to convey the value and celebrate the achievements of our collective industries. T his year's program will feature remarks by Commissioner Pat Wilson and Gov ernor Brian Kemp, the debut of the 2020 Explore Georgia Travel Guide, and the check presentation and industry photo.
Please plan to arrive at the North Wing of the Capitol by 9:00 a.m. As always, allow ample time for parking and to get through security. Parking and security information can be found here.

Tourism, Hospitality and Arts Day is also an important opportunity for advocacy. If you are planning to visit with your elected officials while you are at the Capitol, you may want to use the latest Georgia by the Numbers document, as well as the tourism economic impact reports.

2020 Explore Ge orgia Trav e l Guide Pick-up
Following Tourism, Hospitality and Arts Day at the Capitol, Explore Georgia will have boxes of the 2020 Explore Georgia T ravel Guide available for pick-up from 11 a.m. 2 p.m. at Georgia Public Broadcasting.

T urn into the main entrance and drive straight back into the parking deck. You will see our team members when you enter the deck. Brittney Gray, Director of Visitor Services, will be there and you can contact her at 678-640-4338 if you have questions.
If you are not able to pick up the T ravel Guide at GPB on January 21, you can visit your closest state Visitor Information Center to pick up guides, or email Brittney Gray at bgray@georgia.org to place an order for delivery.

Southe ast Tourism Socie ty M arke ting Colle ge Scholarships Av ailable
Miles Partnership is accepting applications for its scholarship program to the Southeast Tourism Society (ST S) Marketing College, which will be held July 26-31, 2020, in Dahlonega. T he scholarship program is available to tourism industry professionals working in the 12 ST S member states, and Miles will award one scholarship in each state. T he 2020 application period for the program ends on Friday, February 21, 2020, at 5 p.m. EST. Complete information can be found here.

RVIC Grant Application De adline January 31
T he second round of applications for the new RVIC Grant Program are due Friday, January 31, 2020. Interested applicants must submit their applications for consideration to RVICGrants@georgia.org by no later than the close of business (5:00 p.m.). To apply, visit Market Georgia to download the application. Explore Georgia is offering the matching grant in two rounds of up to $2,000 to currently designated RVICs to support their marketing and promotional efforts. Certified RVICs are eligible to apply in only one of the two rounds.
