Register today for the 2014 Governor's Tourism Conference Plan to attend Georgia's largest annual gathering of tourism professionals Sept. 3-5, 2014, at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center. The Governor's Tourism Conference will give you exclusive access to inspiring speakers, sessions with immediate takeaways, and great networking - all needed to help you stay current Georgia's tourism industry. Register by July 15 for the early registration discount!
2. Nominate your colleagues for the Governor's Tourism Awards The best and brightest tourism professionals, organizations and initiatives are awarded each year at the Governor's Tourism Conference. The Tourism Awards Committee depends on industry professionals from around the state to offer valuable feedback on the contributions of your peers and colleagues. Submit entries for the 2014 awards by Aug. 2, 2014.
3. Bid to host the 2015 Regional Visitor Information Center Workshop The annual Regional Visitor Information Center (RVIC) Workshop is critical to the success of the RVIC program. The workshop consists of presentations, panel discussions, tours and social events designed to educate and facilitate interaction among the RVICs. If you would like to host the 2015 RVIC Workshop, download for bid specifications and submit your bid by July 15, 2014.
4. Submit nominations for the Governor's Awards for the Arts and Humanities Presented by the Office of the Governor in partnership with Georgia Council for the Arts and Georgia Humanities Council, the Governor's Awards recognize the value of the arts and humanities in the creation of a thriving economy. The Governor's Awards pay tribute to the most distinguished citizens and organizations that have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to work in these fields. Nominations are due June 26, 2014.
5. Spread the word about the Explore Georgia sweepstakes Georgia Explorer is an interactive travel-planning tool hosted on Explore Georgia's new website at ExploreGeorgia.org. To highlight the new website and travel tool, Explore Georgia has launched a campaign in which travelers can explore their way through Georgia and discover the Georgia getaway that best matches their travel style. Enter the sweepstakes by July 7 and share with your friends!
