Georgia's business climate ranks No. 1 for second consecutive year
Georgia has once again been ranked the No. 1 state in the U.S. for business by Site Selection magazine, one of the nation's top economic development trade publications. This ranking was determined by an annual survey of corporate site selectors, as well as a number of additional factors including the States' performance in Conway Data's New Plant Database. "Not only does this recognition put a spotlight on the state's logistics infrastructure, workforce, accessibility to our state through our ports, and our pro-business environment, but also the strength of the diverse assets of our economic development partners and communities across the state," said Chris Carr, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. "We are proud of this ranking because it means so much to site selectors and corporate decision-makers who are looking at Georgia." This announcement adds to a growing number of accolades the state of Georgia has recently received including: "America's Top State for Business" (CNBC, 2013) "Top State for Business" (Area Development, 2014) "No. 1 Most Competitive State" (Site Selection, 2014) The Georgia Department of Economic Development is also proud of the recent announcement at the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Annual Conference that it was named the No. 1 "best in class" state-level economic development agency in the country, according to a new survey of U.S. corporate executives and location advisors. We share this accolade with economic developers, partners and communities across the state of Georgia.
