GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE FIRST FRIDAY BRIEFING May 5, 2000
Georgia National Guard Raids Sprayberry High School
On Wednesday, April 12, 2000, the Georgia National Guard Counterdrug Task Force staged a drug raid at Sprayberry High School, in Cobb County. The Counterdrug Task Force conducted a mock raid as part of Sprayberry High School's Drug Awareness Day. The highly visual demonstration illustrates the severe consequence associated with drug use, experimentation, and peer pressure. Sprayberry drama students, as well as, local law enforcement agents participated in the raid, which incorporated ground and air assets owned by the Georgia National Guard. The Special Operations Demonstration is just one of the Drug Demand Reduction programs conducted by the Counterdrug Task Force throughout the communities of Georgia. If schools in your area would like to schedule this demonstration, the Georgia Counterdrug POC is CPT Geri Curry at (770) 919-3477 or 3408.
