5,065,000 lbs.); whole breasts 88.50$ (based on 1,104,000 lbs.); boneless slunless thigh meat $1.28$ (based on 958,000 lbs.);
thighs 67.50$ (based on 742,000 lbs.); drumsticks 66.50$ (based on 784,000 lbs.); leg quarters 49.50$ (based on 7,050,000
lbs.); and wings 75.50$ (based on 2,610,000 lbs.). Demand on line run tenders, whole breasts, boneless skinless thigh meat
and wings is mostly normal; skinless boneless breasts ranges normal to light, mostly normal; thighs is good; while the
demand on drumsticks and leg quarters is good to normal.
Trading on heavy breeder type hens was good to balanced. The market undertone is slightly higher with offerings adequate for full trade needs. Estimated hen slaughter for the week ending today is 363,900 head. This compares with 202,200 head the same time a year ago.
