BROILERS PLACED IN GEORGIA UP 1 PERCENT BROILER EGGS SET DOWN 4 PERCENT

Placement of broiler chicks in Georgia during the week ending February 11, 2012 was 27.4 million, up 5 percent from the previous week, and up 1 percent from the comparable week last year, according to the USDA, NASS, Georgia Field Office. An estimated 32.0 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, up 3 percent from the previous week, but down 4 percent from the comparable week a year earlier.
