BROILERS PLACED IN GEORGIA UP 5 PERCENT BROILER EGGS SET DOWN 2 PERCENT
Placement of broiler chicks in Georgia during the week ending November 3, 2012 was 25.8 million, down 3 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the comparable week last year, according to the USDA, NASS Georgia Field Office. An estimated 29.9 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, down 1 percent from the previous week, and down 2 percent from the comparable week a year earlier.
