BROILERS PLACED IN GEORGIA UP 2 PERCENT BROILER EGGS SET UP 3 PERCENT
Placement of broiler chicks in Georgia during the week ending October 13, 2012 was 27.8 million, up 4 percent from the previous week, and up 2 percent from the comparable week last year, according to the USDA, NASS, Georgia Field Office. An estimated 30.6 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, down slightly from the previous week and up 3 percent from the comparable week a year earlier.
