Lara Lyn Carter hosts recipe contest at Albany Tech!

There's a new chain restaurant opening up in Albany that has everyone excited. Everyone, that is, except for Chef Todd White, chair of Albany Technical College's Culinary Arts program, who believes success tastes more like Georgia
To make that point to his students, White is introducing them to the bounty of Georgia with the help of Georgia Grown member and TV chef Lara Lyn Carter. Carter, who produces her own line of culinary sauces under the Wicker & Whisk name, hosted a recipe contest for White's students that challenged them to develop delicious new dishes using Carter's sauces and foods grown and produced locally. Farm Credit Associations of Georgia Offers Free Ag Finance Training

Thanks to the Farm Credit Associations of Georgia, Georgia farmers have four opportunities to attend a free financial training workshop this year. The purpose of the nationally award-winning AGAware program is to promote and educate the next generation of farmers. This will be the fourth year the program has been available in Georgia. Congratulations to Lara Lyn Carter!
As last weekend's Southeast Emmy Awards presentation at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead wore on and the presenters got ever-closer to announcing the award for Best On-Camera Talent, a twinge of nervousness began to grow inside local culinary artist Lara Lyn Carter, who's show "Thyme for Sharing with Lara Lyn Carter" was up for four awards that night. "I was as nervous as I could be, but I don't really think it hits you until it comes down to the last few seconds before they make that announcement," Carter said during an interview Monday with her newly-claimed Emmy sitting prominently on a bookcase. "I was following along with the program, and I remember looking over at (husband) Chris (Carter) and going, `There's three more until my category.'" Carter said the rush of nerves caused her to put down her fork and abandon her complementary meal as she tried to calm herself, but that didn't really help her focus. All she could think about were the legions of well-wishers who had sent her off to Atlanta with positive thoughts. Continue reading...
