The Georgia Restaurant Association (GRA) and the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) have partnered together to create the first ever Georgia Restaurant Week.
This inaugural seven-day culinary event is aimed at increasing awareness about Georgia's culinary scene and highlighting the state's unique and varied dining options.
Georgia Restaurant Week will take place July 13-19, 2015, at participating restaurants throughout Georgia and is sponsored by Comcast Business, Flavors Magazine and Split. The event will showcase Georgia's restaurants to consumers and attract new visitors through culinary tourism.

Thyme For Sharing
GPB will air a new four-part series, "Thyme for Sharing with Lara Lyn Carter," on Saturday, June 13 July 4 at 3 p.m. Regarded as the go-to authority on Southern entertaining, each episode features chef Lara Lyn Carter as she travels to a different locale and introduces viewers to its local fare and signature dishes.
The Albany, Georgia, native's career highlights include the publication of a cookbook "Southern Thymes Shared," the launch of her own line of sauces, "Wicker and Whisk," and serving as the host and creator of a television cooking series that aired locally in southwest Georgia.
However, Lara Lyn says that "Thyme for Sharing," is more than just a cooking show, and she hopes to create a unique experience for viewers. "Food is about more than the preparation and the eating of it. When I travel, one of the first things I do is plan the food itinerary. I like the idea of exploring locations and making people feel like they've actually experienced a place through the food."
