To Those I Love
I f I should ever leave you whom I love To go along the Silent W ay, grieve not, N o r speak o f me with tears, but laugh and talk O f me as i f I were beside you there. (I 'd come-- I 'd come, could I but fin d a way! B ut would not tears and grief be barriers?) A n d when you hear a song or see a bird I loved, please do not let the thought o f me Be sad . . . For I am loving you ju st as I always have . . .Y o u were so good to me! There are so many things I wanted still To do-- so many things to say to you . . . Remember that I did not fear . . .It was J u st leaving you that was so hard to face . . . W e cannot see Beyond . . . B ut this 1 know I loved you so-- 'twas heaven here with you!
