Obituary
Death is a t once the end of the body's old journey and the beginning o f the soul's new journey. Sri Chinmoy
On April 25, 1918, Rosa Bell Walker, eldest of six children, was born in Augusta, Georgia to Annie Lou Strong and Stewart Walker. Rosa accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Tabernacle Baptist Church as a teenager and remained a member for nearly eighty years. Until her health failed, she was a faithful member of the usher board.
In April of 1940, Rosa was joined in matrimony to Orin J. Williams, who preceded her in death. Rosa began her longest lived and most satisfying career, that of nurturing children, at an early age. She was more mother than sister to her two youngest brothers. Though she never gave birth, she mothered more children than can be easily counted. Whether they were nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, neighbor's children or those at one of the schools where she worked, Miss Rosa Bell had a special place in her heart for each of them. She seemed to instinctively know, then would provide what each child needed - a hug and kiss, a cookie, a switch or just someone to listen. Rosa was known to her family as "Sis" until her niece, Carolyn, unable to say auntie, christened her "TeeTee". And TeeTee is the name that will forever remain in the hearts and memories of her family.
Flowers and plants were bountiful anywhere TeeTee lived or worked. Rosa Williams had the greenest of green thumbs! Flowers, plants and children all thrived under her care. Rosa was also known for her culinary skills. Fler specialties were collard greens with home-grown hot peppers, cornbread, neck bones, chitlins and gumbo.
Prior to her accepting employment with the Richmond County Board of Education, Rosa and her husband, Orin, owned and operated the County Coffee Shop on Pleasant Home Road. It was the place to get a good fish sandwich, a cold soda, to talk, dance or watch a live baseball game.
TeeTee passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Kentwood Nursing Home. Precious memories will forever remain in the hearts and minds of her surviving loved ones: brothers John and Charles Walker, nieces Ernestine, Carolyn, Joyce, Colis, Deborah, Patricia and Beverly; nephews Henry, Richard, Miles, Stuart and Tim; godchildren Betty, Cheryl and Cynthia; a special caretaker and great-nephew, Tony, and numerous relatives, in-laws and friends.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Cry
- by Mary Elizabeth Frye

Do not stand a t my grave and weep, I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softlyfallin g snow.
I am thegentle showers of rain, I am thefields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush, I am in thegraceful rush

of beautiful birds in circling flight. I am the star shine of the night. I am in theflowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand a t mygrave and cry, I am not there, I do not die

God looked around His garden and fou n d an empty space.
Then, He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He p u t His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God'sgarden must he beautiful for He only takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would neverg e t well
upon this earth again. H e saw the roads were getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb. H e closed your weary eyes and whispered, "Peace be thine." I t broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone; fo r p a r t o f us, went with you the day God called you home.
