Our Father knows whats bestfor us. So why should we complain, We always want the sunshine
But He knows there must be rain.

And rain it was on Sunday, September 24, 1995 when our dear loved one, Alice Walker, departed this life at the University Hospital.

"Alice" was born December 1, 1909 in Jefferson County, Georgia to the late Jeff and Maggie Hannah.

At an early age "Alice" accepted Christ and joined Sand Valley A.M.E. Church in Louisville, Georgia. After moving to Augusta, Georgia, she joined Bethel A.M.E. Church where she served faithfully until her health failed.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Freeman Walker. This union was blessed with four children, of which one preceded her in death.

Alice was a loving Christian, a model member and will be greatly missed in the church and the community. She was loved and praised by many. She loved God her family and gospel music. Her charming character drew friends, young and old. She adopted the C.E. Wells Gospel Choir members of Bethel C.ME Church as her own children.

She leaves to mourn her passing: a loving and devoted husband, Thomas Freeman Walker; a son,

Thomas Freeman Walker, III, Atlanta, GA; daughters, Ann W. Grider and Margaret W. Black; stepson,

Robert L. Walker; stepdaughter, Juanita Mack; sister, Dora Lee Davis, Rocksbury, Mass.;

daughter-in-law, Evelyn Hill, Tallahassee, FL, adopted daughter, Janet O. Walker; devoted

grandchildren, Edward Maurice Sams, Jeffrey Jerome Black, Scan Patrick Walker, Sonyette Michelle

Walker and LaTashia Monique Grider; other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Corine

Hannah, a devoted niece, Naomi Courtney; a devoted nephew, Rev. Joseph Walker, Bronx, NY; a special

friend, Eliza Thompkins; two God grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and

sorrowing friends.
