OBITUARY MR. L. J. TAYLOR
1916 - 1977
MR. L. J. TAYLOR was born in Houston County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Clint Taylor and Mrs. Channie Taylor on February 25, 1916. He departed this life at the Medical Center of Central Georgia on Friday, July 29,1977. He was reared and educated in Houston County. Mr. Taylor married the former Clara Cain in 1937 and moved to Macon. To this union, seven children were born. Realizing the need for a purposeful living with Christ, he affiliated himself with the Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served untiringly as a deacon and treasurer of the church. He was employed with the Central of Georgia and Southern Railroads for 83 years.
Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Clara Taylor; six daughters: Willa Bell Johnson of Oxen Hill, Md., Lola Belle Grier and Carol Heard of Macon; Barbara Taylor and Patricia Austin of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Gloria Taylor of Marlowe Heights, Md.; one son, James Evans Taylor of Macon; four sisters: Essie Mae Hodge, Georgia T. Jones, Maeola Mallory and Naomi Jones of Macen; two brothers: Willie and Henry Taylor of Macon; fourteen (14) grandchildren; several other relatives and friends.
