JOSEPH EDW ARD SANDERS, son of Mrs. Rachel Sanders Collins, a devoted and loving mother, and the late Rev. Timothy Sanders, was born September 25,1951. He departed this life February 12,1991 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Joseph was a member of the St. John A.M.E. Zion Church of Rutherfordton and served on the Usher Board, sang in the Gospel Choir, and was also a member of Jonesville A.M.E. Zion Church of Matthews.
He was a graduate of West Charlotte High School. Joseph was employed as a Machinist with the Mastercraft Incorporation of Spindale. He was and is loved very much by his family and friends.
Joseph leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Deldra G. Sanders of Rutherfordton; three daughters, La Shandta Michelle Sanders of Charlotte, Rasheedah Jameelah Sanders of Forest City and Jessica Lee Sanders of Rutherfordton; his mother, Mrs. Rachel Thompkins Sanders Collins of Charlotte; a brother, Mr. Timothy Sanders of Goldsboro; a niece, Rachell Nicole Sturdivant of Charlotte; four uncles, Mr. Henry P. Thompkins, Rev. Steward T. Thompkins and Mr. Edbert Lewis, all of Augusta, Georgia and Mr. William B. Neal, Sr. of Greensboro; three aunts, Mrs. Janie L. Thompkins and Mrs. Barbara Thompkins, both of Augusta, Georgia and Mrs. Pauline Neal of Greensboro; father-in-law, Mrs. James Harrison and mother-in-law, Mrs. Elija Harrison of Forest City; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
