DEATH IS A DOOR
Death is only an old door Set in a garden wall;
On gentle, hinges it gives, at dusk When the thrushes call.
Along the tinted are green leaves. Beyond the light lies still; Very willing and weary feet Go over that sill
There is nothing to trouble any hearts; Nothing to hurt at all
Death is only a quiet door In an old wall.
Nancy Byrd Turner

SHE IS NOT DEAD
I cannot say, and I will not say That she is dead, she is just away With a cheery smile, -a wave of the hanc She has wandered into an unknown land And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since she lingers there And you-oh you, who the wildest yearn For an old-time step, and the glad returr
Think of her faring on, as dear In the love of There as the love of Hen
Think of her still as the same, I say; She is not dead, she is just away.
