When I am gone, release me, let me go. 1 have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourselfto me with tears, Be happy that we had so manyyears. 1 gave you my love --you can only guess How much you gave me in happiness. I thank you fo r the love you each have shown But now it is time 1 traveled on alone. So grieve awhilefo r me, i f grieve you must, Then let your griefbe comforted by trust. It's onlyfo r a while that we mustpart. So bless the memories within your heart. I won't befa r awayfo r life goes on. So i f you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see me or touch me, I'll be near And i f you listen with your heart, you will hear, All o f my love aroundyou, soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".

DADDY,
Oh what a wonderful word. A nd I'v e always been proud to be recognized as your daughter. When we were growing up I was jealous o f my cousins, because they had "U ncle Ben" to get treats from and rides on the back o f the truck. I can remember Eric and the children in the neighborhoods (no matter which one, Gwinnett St., Hornsby or E. W alker Street) enjoying all o f the equipment that you supplied seemingly every summer fo r our enjoyment. A nd o f course Joyce and I always looked forward to riding in the back o f the truck. I guess my fondest memory o f my early years is o f your taking care o f me when Mother was in Summer School and I had the mumps. That was the best liver and grits ever only to be topped by your pot liquor and cornbread. A nd Daddy could you see the pride in my face when you out waltzed all the other fathers at my Cotillion? Those pictures o f us are some my favorites. You and Mother have always pushed and encouraged us to be the best at whatever we tried. Not only us, your biological children, but all o f those who have claimed you as surrogate father, godfather, grandfather or uncle. M y sons have had rich childhoods because you and Mom were a part o f their lives. I thank God fo r being able to make the last o f your life happy. I'm only sorry that you w eren't with John, the boys and me sooner. I 'll miss you Dad but, I 'll never stop loving or adm iring you.
