** OBITUARY **
Mrs. Annie Hankerson was born October 24, 1900, Burke County, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jorden Roberson. She departed this life for a better home on Tues day, August 12,1980 at 6:30 a.m. at her residence.
At an early age, she was converted and baptized at Bottsford Spring Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev. J. H. Evans.
She was especially loyal to the Deacon Board and other auxiliary of the Church, never refusing a task because she was already too busy, or because she was too tired. During her months of illness she leaned heavily on the Lord. Calling upon Him to help bear the pain when many times she could have called upon her loved ones, but refused to do so. Knowing they were already tired and over-burdened.
She leaves to cherish her love, kindness, and memories, three daughters, Mrs. Fannie Jones, Mrs. Eliza Walker and Mrs. Voicy Philpot, Augusta, Ga.; one son, Mr. Willie Hankerson, Augusta, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Louise Lynch, Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. James Lewis, Mr. Ezel Hankerson, Washington, D.C.; one daughter-in-law; three sons-in-law; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; thirty-nine grandchildren; sixty great grand children; four great great grandchildren, a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Theres an open gate at the end of the road Through which each must go alone
And there, in light we cannot see, Our Father claims his own.
Beyond the gate your loved one finds happiness and rest
And there is comfort in the thought that a loving God knows best.
