MY LAST REQUEST
Please don't say that I gave up, just say that I gave in. Don't say I lost the battle, for it was God's war to lose or win.
Please don't say how good I was, but that I did my best. Just say I tried to do what's right,
to give the most I could, not do less. Please don't give me wings or halos, that's for God to do.
I want no more than I deserve, no extras, just my due. Please don't give flowers, or talk in harsh tones. Don't be concerned about me now, I'm well with God, I've made it home.
Don't talk about what could have been, it's over and it's done. Just see to all my family's needs, the battle has been won. When you draw a picture of me, don't draw me as a saint, I've done some good, I've done som e wrong, so use all your paint. Not just the bright and light tones, use some gray and dark In fact, don't put down on canvas paint me in your heart. Don't just remember all the good times, but remember all the bad. For life is full of many things some happy and some sad. But if you must do something, then I have one last request
Forgive me for the wrongs I've done and with the love that's left Thank God for my soul's resting, Thank God for all who loved me, Praise God who loved me best.

Eleanor Johnson (Evans) Greene was born January 30,1943 to Mrs. Beatrice Johnson and the Late Mr. Wilber
Johnson, Sr. She was the fourth child born of eight children. She was a native of Augusta, Ga. where she was
educated in the schools of Richmond County. Eleanor attended C.T. Walker Elementary School, A.R. Johnson
Junior High School, and graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School with the Class of 1961:
At an early age, Eleanor confessed Christ and joined the Thankful Baptist Church under the pastorage of the Late Reverened N.T. Young, Sr. As a child, she sang in the church's youth choir. Eleanor had a talent (gift) for singing and thoroughly enjoyed it. As a dedicated choir member, she was a lead singer in the Thankful's Gospel Choir for over 40 years. Eleanor loved God, family and Thankful. She served faithfully until her illness.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the Late Rufus Evans. To this union were born two children, Sabrina and Schelene. Her love for her daughters was indescribable. She labored hard to provide for all of their needs, (life skills) Eleanor was a strong, independent woman who was not a stranger to anyone. Her grandchildren affectionately called her"Shranny'.'
She later joined in Matrimony to Nathaniel Greene.
Eleanor enjoyed working in food service which was also another talent she loved. She was formerly employed by Augusta Country Club, Paine College,TRW Servomation, and eventually opened her own restaurant, Eleanor's Kitchen which was known for"Soul Food"and catering service. Eleanor was featured in the Augusta Chronicle for her talents in preparing delectable and delicious foods. For close to thirty years, Eleanor managed and single handedly prepared foods from her kitchen with love and a compassionate person, she would feed people who were unable to purchase food.
As Eleanor would sing with passion and zeal, she epitomized the beauty of the song she sang so well, "Through It AMTshe learned to trust in Jesus, she learned to live for God. Her voice in the Gospel choir will be solely missed by all who were touched and enjoyed her singing.
She had two siblings to precede her in death, Wilbur (Dirk) Johnson, Jr., and Connie J. Carpenter. She leaves
to cherish fond memories: two loving daughters, Sabrina Brown (Derrick Winfrey), Augusta, GA., Schelene
