The Obituary
MRS. SYLVIA DRUKMOND GARVIN, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Drummond was born in Barnwell County, South Carolina, April 22, 1886..
She departed this life February 19, 1983 at Flushing Hospital in Flushing, New York.
Early in life she became a member of the Jordan Baptist Church in Barnwell, South Carolina, and served faithfully until moving away. In 1939, she moved to Augusta, Georgia, and joined The House of Prayer for all People under the leadership of Bishop C. M. Grace where she continued to serve faithfully.
She married Mr. William Garvin, and to this union eight children were born, four of whom now survive. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Sister Garvin made many friends and was loved by all who really knew her. Failing health brought her to New York where she was cared for by her family. Her life was enriched with much joy and happiness in serving God and helping others. Her Christian principles will live in the hearts and minds of her family and friends who will miss her greatly.
Her survivors include: One son, Mr. William Garvin, Bayside, N. Y., Three daughters, Mrs. Mary Brown, Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Louvenia Anderson, Corona, N. Y. and Mrs. Mattie Medlock, East Elmhurst, N. Y., Twelve grand children, eleven great-grandchildren, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Une Uiventu-tkira f-^ialm
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for His names sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepares! a table before me in the presence
of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the
days of my life: And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
