Mr. Roy Demmons, Sr. was bom in Thompson (McDuffie County) on November 5, 1916 to the late Lula Demmons.
At an early age he was baptized at Springfield Baptist Church in Thompson, GA and later under Christian experience became a member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church.
In 1935, he was united in holy matrimony to the late, beloved Mis. Marie Smith Demmons. To this union eight beautiful children were born, four proceed him in death.
The family expresses great gratitude to our Heavenly Father for the privilege of a kind and unselfish human being.
Cherishing in his homegoing he leaves one son, Mr. Ricky Demmons, Augusta, GA; three daughters, Ann (Ruben) Sullivan, Alberta Demmons, Eloise (Jesse) Haynes, all of Augusta, GA; one sister, Helen Demmons, Augusta, GA; a devoted great grandchild, Mrs. Monique (Frederick) Smith, Augusta, GA; three sisters-in-law, Susie Lowe, Augusta, GA, Cleo Winfrey, Thompson, GA and Lula Robinson, Augusta, GA; one brother-in-law, Eli Robinson, Augusta, GA; twenty-five grandchildren, sixty great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Roy and Marie Demmons was united in holy matrimony in 1935.
Roy was employed at Avera Provision Company for two years and later was employed at Babcock & Wilcox for thirty years with only three days absentee due to family deaths, and later retiring from Blanchard and Calhoun as a custodian. Roy was a very active father, grandfather, and also a great grandfather. During Roy's illness, he never doubted God. His personalities and smile were always saying that God is good.
