Obsequies for Mrs. Willie Eva Burney, Tuesday, February 23, 1988, 3:30 p.m., Beulah Grove Baptist Church, Augusta, Georgia, Dr. Sam Davis, pastor

** O BITU AR Y
On February 19, 1988, one whom we all knew and loved, stepped into a room of her heavenly Father's house. W e have hope, therefore we must not mourn because she is at peace with God and now she is rejoicing in her heavenly home.
She w'as created to make the home of Roman Brown and Corine Jones Brown a happy and glorious one on January 22, 1922, in W rens, Georgia. They felt blessed because God had given them a " Darling D aughter," to touch their lives. They called her W illie Eva. After a short while, the family left Wrens and moved to Baltimore, Maryland; where W illie Eva spent her early years. Later she relocated to Augusta, Georgia, where she was educated in Richmond County.
Christian Education lor W illie Eva started while she was yet young. As she m atured, she became a member of the Beulah Grove Baptist Church family in 1941, under the pastorate of Rev. O. C. Parker. She was joined in Holy M atrimony to the late Mr. Thomas (Tom) Burney.
She never grew tired of giving her service to the Lord, and her love to those who came in contact with her. She became a member of the Laura M cCrary Circle where she worked faithfully and long; and my friends, let us give God the glory, honor and praise for she has found a place of rest.
Mama, Grandmama, Friend, Sister in Christ: we shall miss your kind smiles, your love you gave, your helpful ways, and your encouraging spirit. All of these helped to shape and mold our lives along with the lives of others.
She gathered her spiritual raiments and moved from one room in her house to another room in her Father's house, in " A city which hath foundations, whose builder is God. (H ebrew 11:10)
Loving and cherishing her memory are her daughters: Lillie (Peggy) Nesbitt, Mattie B. Burney, Augusta; three grandsons, Gregory Brown, Osborn Nesbitt, Augusta, and Zachary Bartell Nesbitt, Columbia, S.C.; one grand daughter-in-law, Quezada W . Nesbitt.
...Someday, sometime, our eyes shall see The face that we shall keep in memory Someday, her hand shall hold our hand
Just oner yonder in the glory land.

I Rest
"Reach down, " I cried, " Dear Jesus, and take my trembling hand. The path 1 tread is lonely and I do not understand
The landmarks on the road ahead; they're hidden from my view' Then Jesus whispered softly, "Fear not, I 'll carry you. So now, though darkness deepens, I am divinely blessed,
For come what may, within Flis arms, I rest. . . I sweetly rest. -- Alice Hansche Mortenson
