She was married to Deacon `Willie V. <Brown and to their union was hornfi v e sons and siy daughters. They m oved to Augusta, (jAfrom (Burke County. She worked as a Domesticf o r a time 6efore 6ecoming a Crossing gu a rd with the Richmond County (Board o f Education. She enjoyed her interaction with the students and sta ff at John Houghton Elementary Schooland site was w ell Hfed She received severalcertificates o f appreciationf o r her service. She worked in this capacity until her health began tof a i l
She loved to hake f o r fam ily and friends and was noted f o r her pineapple, caramel and chocolate cakes. She had a -wonderful sense o f humor, great smile and a genuine concern f o r the welfare o f others.
Josie was preceded in death 6y her hus6and, Deacon 'Millie V. (Brown, her parents Eliza glo v er Rouse (iMartin) and Andrew (Bennifield; sihhngs; Ella, Lillie (Bell, and Channie; a beloved son L.V. (Bennifield (Phyllis), a granddaughter Alesha H. `Williams, an d gratid-sons (Ronnie C- (Perdue an d Calvin Carter.
